It did the trick. This is a solid, good looking and well engineered turntable/player. It has all the requisite inputs & outputs – plus radio and other stuff; which is not really of interest to me, but might be to others. The in-built speakers are obviously not going to be of hifi quality, but they do the job if you just want to re-familiarise with old vinyl. Worked for me initially, and inspired me to dig out my 44 year old Pioneer amp and Technics speakers (also from the loft). Rigged them up to the Vosterio and, unbelievably they still work. Sound quality is crisp and clean – thanks to the turntable. It doesn’t have a pickup weight balancing mechanism like more expensive players – which results in a bit of skipping and sticking (seems to be mainly on Floyd albums for some reason). But, hey, you get what you pay for – which in this case is probably slightly MORE than you pay for. Really, this is great value for money.
